What is Reiki?

Reiki, pronounced ‘ray-key’, is a Japanese form of therapy that aims to increase energy levels and promote relaxation and wellbeing.

Reiki

is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get unwell or feel stressed, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy."

A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing.

 

Many of my clients report feeling lighter with more clarity after receiving reiki,  whilst others say they've never felt so relaxed.

During the session, you'll remain fully clothed, so make sure you wear loose comfy clothes, to ensure maximum comfort. I'll offer you blankets and an optional eye mask so that you can sink into relaxation with minimum distraction. Soft background music will be on, and I may work with an essential oil to cleanse the space and aid relaxation.

I offer reiki sessions in 30 minute or 1 hour appointments, or you may prefer a reiki infused massage or holistic facial, the choice is yours...
